Why convert HEIC photos to PDF?
PDF is the format offices, schools and government websites ask for. Typical reasons to turn iPhone photos into a PDF:
- Submitting documents. A photographed ID, receipt, form or certificate often has to be uploaded as a PDF.
- Sending several photos as one file. One combined PDF is easier to email and print than a stack of separate images.
- Opening on any computer. Every computer can open a PDF, while HEIC needs extra software on Windows.
How it works
Each HEIC photo is decoded in your browser, saved as a high-quality JPG and placed on a PDF page. Nothing is uploaded at any step. Safari reads HEIC natively; other browsers download a HEIC decoder once (about 1.5 MB).
| Page size | Page shape | Margins | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to photo | Same as the photo | None | Viewing on screen, sharing |
| A4 | 210 × 297 mm | 0.5 inch | Printing and forms (most countries) |
| US Letter | 8.5 × 11 in | 0.5 inch | Printing and forms (US, Canada) |
Photos taken sideways are rotated correctly. Metadata such as date and location isn’t copied into the PDF, which is useful when you share personal documents.
Only need images? Use HEIC to JPG, or HEIC to PNG for lossless files.
